Endeavour Series 6

Season 6 was a welcome return to form. Endeavour found himself having it all to prove again, treated with distrust and disdain by the new bosses, DI Box and DS Jago. It was welcomely reminiscent of the show’s early episodes, when he didn’t fit in.

In Pylon, a moustachioed Endeavour in uniform is ploughing a lonely furrow out in the sticks. He solves the riddle of a dead schoolgirl and earns a recall to where the action is. 7/10

Apollo sees him solve the mystery of a strange car crash, with the help of Police Chief Superintendent Reginald Bright, also frozen out and now on traffic. 6/10

Confection is set in a chocolate factory, and has shades of the Inspector Morse episode set in a brewery, Sins on the Father. 6.5/10

Degüello provides an exciting conclusion to the series, even if the analogy to the Grenfell tragedy is not subtle. 7/10

One of the baddies in this series is another femme fatale (see my season 5 review). One of the better seasons, anyway.
